Welcome to the exciting Music Ministry
of Orange Park United Methodist Church! Its purpose is to provide our
finest in music of praise and worship of our God and His Son, Jesus
Christ. Our music provides us the opportunity to experience His Holy
Spirit in our lives and in our worship.We seek to use the talents of the
entire congregation through music, dance, drama, sign language and worship arts
to celebrate and draw others near to God through all styles of music and its
mediums. We use classical, contemporary, jazz, gospel, visual arts, movement,
instrumental and music for all ages to glorify God.
Children
We offer a graded program for the
children of our Church, beginning with our three-year-olds. The children
sing in Church once a month, but we stress to them that they are not
"performers" in Church, but rather are offering their voices as a gift to
God and to inspire others to get to know God. Annual musicals also help us
to get to know God, God's work and each other better! We encourage our
choir members to not only grow musically but to also develop a relationship
with God.

The T.L.C. (Teen's Loving Christ)
Student Choir meets Sunday afternoons prior to Youth Group Powerhouse
meetings. T.L.C.s are a great group of high school and junior high
school students who "Seize the Day" for Christ! The group not only
sings each Sunday during the school year but offer themselves for service in
local nursing homes, soup kitchens, and community events to show their faith
through music. T.L.C.s are not just a group for the musically gifted of
the church, but are a group for all youth of the Church and their friends - a real
place to belong! Musically, we sing music from D. C. Talk and Michael W. Smith
to J. S. Bach and George F. Handel to the Doobie Brothers and Garth
Brooks! Lots of short term ensembles are available, including sign
language, praise band, male and female ensembles, dance, drama, and instrumental
opportunities. The group also tours annually to places like New York, Alabama,
Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Tennessee, Chicago and the Bahamas providing opportunities to reach
people for Christ! |

Our Chancel Choir at Orange Park
United Methodist Church provides rich, rewarding musical worship experiences for all its participants in
various genres: contemporary, classical, jazz and gospel! They enjoy
great Christian fellowship and a family feeling with the satisfaction of making
great music to the Lord while aiding others in doing so. All singers are
welcome in all ability levels. Requirements include the availability to
sing for weekly services and attending one weekly rehearsal, the ability to accept direction,
to carry a tune, the willingness to learn and to give of yourself. Our Adult Choirs
enjoy singing in the annual Christmas Concerts, Lenton Services, Spring Concerts,
Nites on Broadway plus other occasional events such as Patriotic Concerts and
Family Musicals; often with orchestra. You will be warmly welcomed into the
Choir family! Men's (Dynamics) and Women's (Inspirations) Ensembles also
add small group opportunities for our members. |

Instrumental
The Instrumental Music Ministry at
Orange Park includes a volunteer orchestra with fall and spring seasons. All performers, senior high
through adult are most welcome! Instrumental ensemble groups and
occasional brass, woodwind and string groups are utilized in worship quite
often. We meet Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m.Our Chancel Handbell Choir is an
active part of our Music Ministry at the Church! They play
regularly for services plus they sometimes play in the community.

speak with anyone on our Music Ministry Team or you can simply show up at the
appropriate rehearsal time to see for yourself, the excitement and
"family" of the Music Ministry at our church!
